Hello, I'm Adrian
I run the installations at AutoGate Carlisle, and I've been installing electric gates for 16 years. Swing gates, sliding gates, bifold gates, new gates and old gates made electric – for houses in the city, farms out in the Eden Valley and businesses across Cumbria and Dumfries and Galloway.
What I enjoy most is a gate that just works, day in, day out, for years. That comes down to doing the job properly the first time.
Members of BIGAA
AutoGate Carlisle are members of BIGAA – the British and Irish Gate and Access Association. BIGAA promotes safe gate installation, helps buyers understand what a good job looks like, and warns people off cheap kits and cowboy installers.
Powered gates have caused serious accidents in the UK and Ireland, and too many gates out there are still fitted without the right safety devices or proper testing. On our jobs that means:
- the right safety devices on every gate – photocells, safety edges and more where needed
- force testing to BS EN 12453
- electrical work to BS 7671
- a proper handover, with a Declaration of Conformity and the manuals
